The calm before that whistle blows...
One of our workshop attendees found the session "really good fun and really useful" and wrote this in the workshop:

Over the whitewash, you feel the breeze, and the calm. The calm before that whistle blows. Then the dull thud of boot on ball, and you run. All the time together. All the time one unit, against another. They may be faster. They may be stronger. But they won't be braver, not today boys. not any day.
The first hit is hard, but you don't feel it. Not today. not until tomorrow, no pain. The game moves on. From delight to despair, emotions fuel you. For now this is everything. If you can't walk afterwards, it doesn't matter. What is there to walk for anyway? You keep moving forwards. hit after hit, you keep moving forwards. You won't give in, you must cross that line. You must win.
